As of Detail 3.2, Detail for macOS comes with a camera extension using Apple’s latest API. This means you can use the Detail for macOS Camera everywhere, including FaceTime, Safari and even PhotoBooth but it does require some new security permissions.
When you first install Detail for macOS, you may get an alert that says “System Extension Blocked”. To enable the extension you’ll need to navigate to the Login items and Extensions pane in System Preferences. Make sure the Detail Studio extension is enabled.
If the extension still does not work, try quitting Detail for macOS, disable the extension, re-enable it, then restart Detail for macOS.
We’ve tried to remove the old camera plugin for all users automatically but there’s a small chance you might have to delete it manually. If you see an alert in the app asking you to delete the old plugin, make sure you do or Detail for macOS won’t work in other apps.
