Why is my video in macOS mirrored in Zoom, Meet, or other video calls?

Updated over 8 months ago

Most video conferencing software displays a mirrored version of your self-view by default but only your own video preview is flipped β€” other guests will see your video in the correct orientation.

So when you use text or images in a Scene, they might appear mirrored for you in the video call software but will look correct for the audience or other guests on the call.

You can turn off video mirroring in Zoom, Google Meet and other platforms so your preview matches what the audience is seeing.

Detail for Mac currently only supports non-mirrored video because adding text and images to Scenes could get confusing with a mirrored preview.
