How to Create a Reaction Video Using Detail

Welcome to Detail! In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to create a reaction video effortlessly using our app. If you're already familiar with Detail, this guide will serve as a refresher. If not, don't worry โ€“ we'll take you through each step.

Step 1: Navigate Through the App

Upon opening Detail, you'll find yourself in the live video view. Here, you can directly start recording your reaction. Toggle through different layouts and switch between cameras and lenses to set up your shot just the way you like it.

Step 2: Tap the Reaction Video Shortcut

If you tap the folder icon, you'll be taken to the library view. Here, you can access your previous projects and find Get Started shortcut options.

Since we're creating a reaction video, select that option to proceed.

Step 3: Choose Your Video

Next, choose the video or image you want to react to. You can select any video from your camera roll.

Step 4: Start Recording

Once your chosen video is added, you'll see it playing in the background with your own video overlaid on top. Hit the record button to start recording your reaction. The video will play from the beginning, and when it ends, it will loop seamlessly.

You can easily pause the background video while you're recording by tapping on the video and tapping it again to play it.

Step 4: Editing

After recording, it's time to edit your reaction video. Remember, the background and selfie camera are recorded as separate videos, giving you flexibility in editing. You can switch between your face and the video, choose picture-in-picture, split-screen, or even green screen effects. Adjust the volume of the video and your reaction to achieve the perfect balance.

Edit your video using the timeline or utilize the text-based editor to quickly remove unwanted parts, such as silences or pauses.

Step 5: Share Your Creation

Once you're satisfied with your reaction video, hit the share button to export it. You can also generate a video description with the help of AI to make sharing even easier.
