An overview of text overlays (released in 4.2)

After recording or importing a video you can use the Text option in the menu to add text overlays to your video. Perfect to add titles, lower-thirds, or call-outs to your content. Drag, resize, and add multiple text layers – get creative.

How to add text to your video

  1. Import a video or complete a recording

  2. Scroll the timeline to the exact spot you want your text to start appearing

  3. In the bottom menu, tap Text

  4. Type your text in – hit "return" on your iPhone keyboard to start a new line of text

  5. Tap style – choose a style

  6. Tap color – choose a color for your text

How to set the duration of your text – where it starts and ends

Text will appear where you place it on the timeline and you can decide how long it will stay on the video by:

  • Tapping on the text

  • Tapping Duration

  • Dragging on the duration slider to determine how long you want your text to stay on screen for.

Can I add more than one layer of text?

Yes, simply tap Text again to add a new layer of text.

How do I resize or move my text?

To resize or rotate your text, pinch on it with two fingers – out is bigger, in is smaller. You can move your text with one finger on screen.
