This guide will walk you through five key shortcuts to make video creation up to 10 times faster using your iPhone and Detail. These shortcuts, including home screen widgets, the control center and Apple shortcuts, will help streamline your workflow without needing any advanced technical skills.

Home Screen Widgets: Quick Access to Video Recording and Editing

Home screen widgets let you jump right into video recording or editing with just one tap.

How to Set Up a Widget:

1. Long press on your iPhone’s home screen.

2. Tap Edit.

3. Select Add Widget and search for "Detail".

4. Choose the widget you want (e.g., Reaction Video, Add Captions).

#1 Record a Reaction Video in Seconds

Want to quickly record a reaction video? Use the widget to start recording immediately.

  • Tap the widget.

  • Import the video via URL or from your photos.

  • Start recording immediately.

Bonus Tip: You can pause the video you’re reacting to by tapping the screen, which is useful if you need time to think mid-reaction.

#2 Add and Style Captions Directly

You can add captions to your video with just a few taps. Here’s how:

  1. Tap the widget.

  2. Import your video (from a URL or camera roll).

  3. Tap Generate to create captions.

  4. Customize your captions—adjust the style, color, animation, and placement.

You can reposition the captions by long-pressing and dragging them around the screen.


Control Center: Faster Access to Video Tools

If you’re regularly recording or editing videos, adding Detail to your iPhone’s Control Center will save you a lot of time.

Steps to Add Detail to Control Center:

  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner of your iPhone screen.

  2. Tap Add Controls and search for "Detail".
